Judgment Day
Riley Lincoln

August 2012
I was wheeling along, singing my song
Gas to the floor, looking for more
Drove right past "Judgment Day"
The good Lord was sitting up high
Said "you're gonna have to do a drive-by--
You gotta do a drive-by of life
So drive around the big track of life
Then be sure to stop at Judgment Day
Then you can be on your way"
Started around the big track, looking at my life
Went around a big curve
When I saw my life, I started to lose my nerve
Judgment Day was coming up fast...
I stomped hard on the gas
The good Lord jumped out of the was
And I sped right through Judgment Day
Now here I am on life's Lost Highway
Sitting next to me was the Devil
I looked up through the dark night
Seen a sign said "Hank's Roadhouse--next right"
The Devil was smiling in the darkness of night
I asked if he knew Hank
He said "for many years Hank's been in the bank"
We pulled into Hank's Roadhouse of Sin
Me and the Devil walked right in
"Paycheck" just got done playing his set
The devil said "Sit down, I'll buy your last beer"
Well, a man's last beer is a thing to hold dear
But suddenly I felt no fear
Whirled on my stool, knocked over my beer
I looked on as it spread 'cross the floor
The Devil said
"There ain't no more"
Remember Judgment Day
