For Waylon--wherever you are tonight

                                          Shakin' the Blues

Wherever Waylon went
  That's where I wanna go
I don't care if I have to walk
  Through forty foot of snow
(or if he went where it's hot
  down below)

Wherever Waylon went
That;s where I want to go
I wanna hear Waylon shake the blues
  Wanna hear Waylon rockin',
Breakin' all the rules
Actin' out the life of sin and booze

I wanna hear Waylon shake the blues
I want it to be a hot summer night
The a/c workin' only half right
The dance hall packed real tight
Waylon gettin' ready to shake the blues tonight

There are more outlaws here
Than there is in jail on any night
And half of 'em wanna get into a fight
You can see it in Waylon's eyes, he's ready, he's right
All the girls are here, ready with delight
Because Waylon's gonna sing the blues tonight

South of town the old train whistle blew
  The silvery moon peeked through
The dance hall went silent
Waylon hit a chord, the crowd began to riot
Waylon's shakin' the blues tonight
  Gonna make everyone feel right
Buy a one-way ticket for the very nrxt flight
I wanna hear Waylon shakin' the blues tonight

Wherever Waylon went
  That's where I wanna go
Don't care if I have to walk
  Through forty foot of snow
Or if he went where it's hot down below
  Wherever Waylon went
That's where I wanna go

Shakin' the Blues
